May 6th,2009 the grade 5/6 OO class went to the Moose Jaw Art Gallery! We went as a class field trip!
On the tour we saw 3 different art exhibits!
First we saw Neil Mcleod. His paintings were pretty original. He is a First Nation and he painted one with a Regina Theme. His was like Graffiti. He had faces, and buildings(Regina), and he also had writing on practically all of them! He splattered paint on them cause it looked like they were moving!
Second we saw Allen Harding Mckay. His is pasteled based on pictures from a movie. How he did that was he took pictures of parts of the movie... then pasteled the picture! He based them on Afghanistan! It was pretty amazing!
Last but not leased the third gallery! The Wood Kin work of Saskatchewan. That exhibit they worked on clay pots and sculptures. They did Vases, bowls, and lots more!
Finally we got to the art. We all made boxes with clay. we got handed a piece of clay and we put designs on them then folded them like a box and made a lid. It was a lot of fun!
